Most of the details will be explained at the event, but here are the basics. Things begin with practice and instruction (no experience necessary!) from BATL’s expert coaches, teams will then go head-to-head in a playoff tournament, and we’ll finish off with a championship round to crown the winner.
Yep—but don’t worry, if you register solo, we will match you with a team!
Nope. While we do encourage you to fundraise to help us strengthen mental health initiatives in our region, each participant (19+) who pays the $50 registration fee is eligible to participate in the event. See our fundraising toolkit for tips and tricks.

It’s the Back Yard Axe Throwing League. Think darts but with axes.
For your safety, all participants (19+) are required to wear closed-toed shoes while axe-throwing. There’s no dress code, but we encourage you to dress the part and summon your inner lumberjack.
Yes, everyone who makes a donation will receive a tax receipt.
Note: The registration fee is not tax receiptable, as per Canada Revenue Agency rules.
