Become a Campaign Lead
Become a Campaign Lead
If you are responsible for United Way activities at your workplace, or act as the key point of contact between United Way and your team, your role is what we often call a Campaign Lead.
Every year, hundreds of workplaces across our region partner with us. These campaigns rely on employees who generously offer their time and talent to make them a success.
With your help, we can achieve the impact that our communities depend on.
If you are considering becoming a Campaign Lead, here are some reasons why you should take on this role:
Have fun, and make connections
When we ask our Campaign Leads why they do what they do, the main answer we always hear is, “It’s fun!”
Through United Way, you can plan and host social events for your colleagues, set up new and creative ways to learn about your community, and spend time collaborating with colleagues from across your organization. Plus, meeting other Campaign Leads is a great way to grow your professional network, and connect with passionate leaders in other sectors.
Stand out and show your leadership skills
Whether you’re the first one to take the mic, or prefer to work behind the scenes, your role as Campaign Lead gives you the chance to showcase and grow your skills.
As a Campaign Lead, you can tailor the role to suit your strengths, and know that your United Way representative is standing beside you. We are rooting for you, and are here to help you and your organization succeed.
Your community is better off, because of you
The best reason to be a Campaign Lead, and likely the most satisfying, is the impact that you can have on your community.
Because of people like you, vulnerable seniors can receive hot meals and stay connected. People with mental health challenges, or those experiencing a crisis, can access timely help. Youth experiencing homelessness can get access to the supports they need to build a more stable life. And newcomers or people with disabilities can find job opportunities that match their skills.
